Welcome from the President of ACSD

ACSD continues to be the leading voice for Christian professionals in student development who are equally committed to their profession and integrating faith and values into their work. It is my pleasure and honor to serve and lead an organization that encourages the highest standards of professionalism while working to fully integrate Biblical principles into everything we do.

Our association is made up of close to 1,000 members from almost 200 institutions (faith based, private, public). We represent new professionals in the field along with those who have spent their lives working with college students. We include but are not limited to resident directors, counselors, career directors, campus safety officers, diversity officers, activity directors, graduate faculty in higher education, deans and vice presidents. Diversity, in a number of ways, is one of our organizational initiatives. 

The website will provide you a window into who we are as an organization, resources for professional growth and necessary information about how to be a part of this association.  Our hope is that the organization will assist you in staying current in your professional development and connected to others in the field.  We do this by sponsoring research and scholarship through grants, a refereed journal, monographs, and a membership e-magazine and news letter.  In addition, we host on-line collaborative conversations for continued dialogue around a number of issues.  

One of our most successful ongoing services is our annual conference.  Early in June we partner with a host institution to provide challenging key note speakers and an array of professional workshops.  The June 2012 conference will be at Taylor University (IN) and then in 2013 we head to Northwest Nazarene University (ID).  During each conference over 600 of our colleagues meet for development and encouragement.
