Housing Refund

I am currently looking at revising our refund policy for students who move out mid-semester and later. Currently we prorate on a weekly basis from when the student checks-out of housing. I would be interested to know what other schools’ policy on housing refunds is.
Thank you,

Anthony,
At Baylor, we prorate on a per diem basis, which is calculated automatically by our system. I have just finished, however, a complete overhaul of our occupancy license (contract) and would love to share it with you if you like. If yes, feel free to email me at Dave_Kennedy@baylor.edu and I’ll send it along.
Hope you are doing well.
Dave K.
Anthony,
We prorate on a per diem basis as well, but only up to the 25th day of the semester. After the 25th day, Union University does not issue refunds for housing or meals.

At Baptist College of Health Sciences we have stopped refunding altogether. Housing fees are non-refundable. So if you move out you forfeit your fee. We will prorate the fee if someone moves in after the term begins.

Anthony,
At Moody students get a 100% refund of their housing and meal plans charges before the first class of the semester. If they drop during the first week of the semester they get a 90% refund. During the second week they get a 75% refund and during the third and fourth week, they get a 50% refund. After the fourth week, no refund is given. In all of these cases, students forfeit their $150 enrollment deposit.
I hope that helps!

Bryan College’s refund policy is almost identical to Moody’s, except that we refund at 25% during the fifth and sixth weeks. After six weeks there is no refund. The housing deposit is totally non-refundable.
