Moody does not allow students to bring lofts. But we do have lofting kits available that were purchased from the same company when we acquired the beds. The lofting kits basically raise the bed up so that a dresser or desk can fit under it.

I hope that helps!

At Malone we have a combination. Most of our residence halls have lofted beds already (bunked without the bottom bunk). In our two older residence halls we do not have lofted beds and we do allow students to build their own. Below are our regulations…

1) Lofts are to be freestanding, at least 24” from the mattress to the ceiling, and at least 3’ away from entrances and exits for a clear, safe, passageway. • Lofts may not interfere with any electrical or safety devices.

2) Lofts may not be larger than two single bed sleep surfaces.

3) Lofts are to be placed in the rooms within the first two weeks of the semester

4) Lofts will be inspected and approved by the Resident Director, who will assure all University requirements are met.

5) All University furniture is to remain in the room and on the floor of the room (no sub-floors or mezzanine levels).
