Special Assistant to the President for Diversity Initiatives

Taylor University is seeking applications of candidates for the position of Special Assistant to the President for Diversity Initiatives. This is a full-time, 12 month, exempt position located in Upland, Indiana. Resumes will be accepted until the position is filled.
The position of Special Assistant to the President for Diversity Initiatives will build on Taylor University’s existing intercultural programs to establish and implement initiatives that will enable all members of the Taylor community to thrive, prosper and benefit from and contribute to the University’s mission. This position will report to the President with a dotted line relationship with the Provost, the Vice President for Student Development, and the Special Assistant to the President (Human Resources). He or she will serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Deans’ Council, and the Student Development Lead Team. He or she also will have administrative faculty status (non-tenure track) and be responsible to teach one to two academic courses each academic year on diversity topics.
The Special Assistant to the President for Diversity Initiatives will be responsible for working with the University’s leadership to generate a strategic plan for diversity and intercultural initiatives, and then to implement that plan, setting priorities and short-term objectives while tracking progress towards long-term goals. He or she will initiate programming, propose policies, and foster the development of a Taylor community in which everyone can thrive. The Special Assistant will assist the University in addressing diversity and intercultural affairs, and in infusing a sensibility and understanding of diversity issues throughout the campus.
