Abilene Christian University seeks a visionary leader with proven success in career services and development in a college or university setting. Key to the success of the University Career Center is the Executive Director’s ability to carry out the following core objectives: (1) Provide leadership and direction to an effective team of career services professionals; (2) Develop, promote and provide a range of services and programs that facilitate the career readiness of students and promote the transition from student to professional; (3) Develop and foster relationships with the employer community that provides students with opportunities to develop professional skills, integrate academic learning with work and find meaningful career positions; (4) Develop and foster alumni relations to provide students with opportunities to develop professional skills, integrate academic learning and faith with work and find meaningful career positions; and (5) Develop campus-wide relationships and partnerships with academic colleges and departments to provide career development support and information. The Executive Director reports directly to the Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students. Housed in our new Hunter Welcome Center, the initiatives of the University Career Center are an important part of ACU's 21st Century Vision and strategic direction. It also plays a vital role in the University’s co-curricular partnership with academic affairs. The Executive Director must be Christ-centered and possess a keen understanding of career calling and career readiness. A chief component of this position involves the ability to develop and enhance key campus partnerships toward this end Abilene Christian University is a private Christian university with a growing enrollment and nearly 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
