Under the supervision of the Director of First-Year Experience Programs & Initiatives, the First-Year Experience Programs Coordinator has the direct responsibility for the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of the Peer Advising Leadership Program. The Peer Advising Coordinators (PACs) and Peer Advising Leaders (PALs) are returning students, who play an integral role in the transition and retention of new students (freshmen, transfers and readmits) through intentional programs and by providing outreach (i.e. new student orientation programs: Week of Welcome- fall orientation, spring orientation and FastTrack-summer orientation, FYE Excursions, INT 100: Freshman Seminar, and on/off campus activities). The Peer Advising Leadership Program is a unique ministry on campus as it embodies a Christ-like servant leadership philosophy. The PALs primary motivation is a deep desire to help others through volunteering their service to the University and contributing positively to the new students’ transition to Concordia. They invest their efforts on meeting the needs of their students and work at creating a sense of belonging for them thereby enhancing their Concordia experience and growth as a leader. Additional job duties include assisting with new student orientation programs, overseeing FYE Excursions and co-facilitating INT 100: Freshman Seminar .All activities coming from the Office of First-Year Experience Programs & Initiatives are to make a significant contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university. 20 hours a week 11 months May be doing interviews at ACSD
