Job Summary: Under the direction of the Vice President for Enrollment & Student Development, plan, organize, and co-coordinate leadership to comprehensive student life programs and systems including student activities, intramurals, new student orientation/freshman year seminar, student leadership programs/advising the Associated Students of NCU (ASNCU), and other programs related to student life. Position Duties and Responsibilities: • Plan, organize, and co-coordinate leadership to comprehensive student life programs and systems including student activities, intramurals, new student orientation/freshman year seminar, student leadership programs/advising the Associated Students of NCU (ASNCU), and other programs related to student life. • Hire, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned student staff. • Plan, coordinate and administer various events and programs (e.g. Beacon Nights, Orientation, Spirit Week, Homecoming, Sophomore Year Experience, Upperclassman Retreat, Underclassman Retreat, Alcohol Awareness Week, Get-Aways, Senior Events, Adult Student Programming, MissionTrips). • Collaborate with university faculty, students and staff in the scheduling of social, academic and developmental programs; serve as department liaison with other areas of the University. • Provide technical expertise, information and assistance to the Vice President for Enrollment & Student Development regarding assigned functions; assist as needed in the formulation and development of procedures and programs. • Develop and prepare the assigned budgets; analyze and review budgetary and financial data, control and authorize expenditures in accordance with established limitations. • Direct the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, activities and programs. • Develop publications and marketing for student life programs. • Provide support, development and advisement to assigned student groups and organizations; meet with students regarding general student life concerns; advise the ASNCU. • Coordinate, select and train Orientation Peer Mentors (Fish Group Leaders) and Orientation Student Staff. • Attend and coordinate a variety of meetings including staff, committee, task force, and other meetings as assigned; participate in and chair various committees and task forces. • Operate a computer and other office equipment as assigned. • Perform related duties as assigned. Experience and Qualification Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in College Student Personnel or related field and three to five years of increasingly responsible experience in student activities/student life or related field. Knowledge of planning, event planning, organization, student leadership, and direction of student programs/activities; student development principles applicable to student activities/student life; operation of a computer and applicable software; Christian Higher Education, University mission, goals and objectives; budget preparation and control; oral and written communication skills; principles and practices of administration, supervision and training; applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; and record-keeping techniques.
