SUMMARY: The Director of Health & Wellness oversees the delivery of medical services on campus; refers faculty, staff, and students to outside medical providers; manages the required Student Health Insurance Plan; addresses health-related issues/concerns from a Biblical worldview; and promotes wellness and healthy lifestyle choices to the campus community. This a 12-month "first responder" position with "on call" responsibilities for emergency phone calls regarding students' medical needs as needed. ADMINISTRATIVE *Serve as the primary contact between the university, students and parents in regards to health and wellness issues/concerns for the campus community. *Maintain the Health & Wellness Center revenue and expenses budgets. Evaluate the Health & Wellness Center's services and programs and compile assessments. *Comply with all state/federal regulations related health care delivery and inventory control. HEALTH EDUCATION: *Plan and promote health education programs for the campus community to encourage healthy lifestyles and address students' health and wellness issues from a Biblical worldview. *Coordinate or co-program healthy lifestyles special events (e.g. Health Fair, Blood Bank, Annual Depression Screening Day, National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week, National Eating Disorders Week). *Coordinate or co-program support groups on health and wellness topics such as addictions, eating disorders, sexual abuse, weight loss, exercise, stress management, and depression. SUPERVISION: *Provide primary supervision for the Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Coordinator for Health & Wellness, and part-time Medical Assistants, Peer Educators, and Student Assistants. *Provide "on-site" consultation for the University Counselor and Graduate Counseling Interns. EDUCATION: *Minimum: Possess a Bachelors' Degree in Nursing with a Registered Nurse credential. *Prefer: Master's degree in Nursing, Health Education, Public Health, College Student Development, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or related field. *Prefer: educational credentials and professional experience in Psychiatric Nursing. EXPERIENCE: *Minimum: Possess 3-5 years professional health care (management or service delivery) (or) Possess 3 – 5 years of experience related to health education (classroom or public setting). *Prefer: Demonstrated experience with medical insurance contracts and benefit packages. *Prefer: Demonstrated experience in bidding and purchasing medical services and supplies.
