Director, Pepperdine Volunteer Center Malibu Campus The Director of the Pepperdine Volunteer Center will represent the PVC to university boards, donors, and community based organizations and is responsible for fiscal oversight and control of all the PVC's budget totaling nearly $700,000; provides leadership for all service programs coordinated by the center, including, but not limited to, ongoing volunteer programs, one-time events, alternative spring break program (Project Serve), Jumpstart, service-learning, community based research and the promotion of the Non-Profit Management Program; will supervise the Assistant Director, two Jumpstart Coordinators, and the Administrative Assistant. FUNCTIONS, DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Daily oversight. • Supervisory responsibilities. • Budget management. • Develop, create, and maintain a meaningful environment that fosters students' awareness of social justice issues and interests in various philanthropic ventures. • Serve as a Christian role model, promote a Biblical worldview, and attend chapel on a weekly basis. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master's Degree in non-profit management, college student development, education, ministry or related field. Experience: Experience in college student development, service-learning or volunteer project management; minimum five years professional experience in a university, non-profit organization or education field. Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and fiscal management, along with supervision of professional staff and demonstrated progressive leadership. Must have the ability to integrate Christian faith with student development theories and practice; manage and supervise professional staff and students; and strong problem solving and conflict management skills. PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access); willingness to work nights and weekends; ability to travel locally using personal car (mileage reimbursed). OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Personal faith in Jesus Christ; active involvement in a local church; demonstrated support for the Christian mission of the University.
