Requirements:

•	Participate in the Community Life Staff (CLS) training, schedule and run regular meetings of the CLS, and participate in the development and facilitation of CLS continuing education sessions.

Position Summary

Supervision:

Programming:
-Establishes and maintains records and files concerning hall programs and activities (i.e., generate bi-weekly calendars, and master calendar).
-Mentors Community Builders in the creation and implementation of programming and evaluation.
-Along with the Director of Student Programs, advises the NUSG Activities Chair, Event Coordinators, and the SAB in the planning, coordination, and implementation of NUSG events and programs.
-Co-teaches an integrated core curriculum for two semester RLS training class, utilizing all relevant campus services/resources (e.g. Student Success, Wellness Center).

Student Role Model and Mentor:
-Spends a significant amount of time encouraging healthy relationships, meets with students, mediates conflicts referred by student staff, and provides pastoral care/counsel.
-Attends chapel regularly.
-Encourages communication between administration and students; demonstrates support for the Northwest University mission and vision, the student development mission, vision and core capacities, and the core education curriculum.
-Meets regularly with Community Builders and NUSG Activities Chair in an individual setting.

Administrative Responsibilities:
-Maintains regular office hours (20 hours/week) in addition to regular student and staff meetings.
-Completes six student contact hours per week (floor presence, participation at student events, etc.).
-Shares in the rotational AC emergency, on-call, 24-hour duty.
-Participates in the Judicial System, including the Community Care Council.
-Maintains on-call calendar and holiday on-call calendar.
-Completes other tasks or attends other committees (Orientation Committee, PATH, Community Care Council etc.) as assigned by the Dean of Community Life.

Communication: 
-Provides the appropriate written and verbal documentation and reporting data to appropriate AC in regards to disciplinary actions and emergencies.
-Meets weekly or as agreed with ACs.
-Understands and is able to communicate the rationale for University guidelines and regulations in a positive manner.

Professional Development: 
-Is actively involved in student development learning activities.
-Participates in the Professional Learning Community.
-Reads and applies relevant research.

Serve as the primary contact for maintenance and housekeeping requests. Partner with Operations to maintain a comfortable and hazard-free living environment in residence hall.   Coordinate with Campus Safety to secure the safety and well-being of all residents and guests.   Conduct bi-monthly fire drills in conjunction with the Campus Safety Department.   Manage building programming and staff development budgets.   Attend weekly Residence Life staff meetings.   Serve as the Residence Director on-duty as scheduled.   Serve on Residence Life and/or Student Life committees as assigned by the VP and/or Director of Residence Life.   Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Director of Residence Life.   Requirements:  Education: A Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.  A Masters degree or graduate education in a related field is preferred.  Professional Experience: One to two years residence life or related experience preferred.
